| Florida Trail Riders Motocross Committee Meeting Minutes Date: November 11, 2000 Location: Motocross of Marion County, Ocala Florida Meeting called to order by Chairman John North at 7:10pm Member in attendance: John North - Chairman Jim Mamula - Referee Buddy Martin - Scorekeeper Rand Franklin - A Rider Representative Robert White - Sr. Rider Representative Mark Palmer - B Rider Representative No Old Business - No Unfinished Business New Business: Proposal by Robert White to create a 65 Modified class and 80 Modified classes to promote rider and parent turnout. Discussion followed. Jim Mamula pointed out that the Motocross series already has an 80 Modified class, currently known as the "Supermini" class. Also during this discussion it was noted that the "Supermini" class also includes big wheel bikes. The proposal was modified to just create the 65 Mod Class and was submitted in writing by Robert White. The suggestion was made to start immediately with a "Track Class" (No FTR Points / No Standings) and possibly add this class next year. After discussion vote was taken: All For, None Against, Proposal Approved. Action: Publish in magazine for member comment - Final vote at next meeting Proposal by Robert White to reduce advancement points for "B" classes by half if 4 or less riders finish the race. Discussion Followed. Many of our B riders compete in very small classes, sometimes being the only rider in their class. For instance, if a rider is in the B250/Open class and is the only rider in that day's event, he/she will receive 10 advancement points. If this happens 5 times in one season the rider could be advanced into the A250/Open class. The proposed rule would read: Advancement Points will be awarded for riders competing in events with 4 or fewer riders based on overall event results (not per moto) as follows: 1st Place 5 Advancement Points 2nd Place 3 Advancement Points 3rd Place 2 Advancement Points 4th Place 1 Advancement Point After Discussion, vote was taken: All For, None Against, Proposal Approved. Action: Publish in magazine for member comment - Final vote at next meeting Motion by John North to create the position of Promotion Manager of the Florida Trail Riders, Motocross Series. Once the event was scheduled, the Promotion Manager would contact the track owner and promote the general event. This position would be compensated by receipt of a Family Membership and Banquet tickets. Motion seconded by Robert White. After discussion, vote was taken: All For, None Against, Motion Carried At this time John North asked Mark Palmer to accept the position of Promotion Manager. Mark Accepted.
